PGA Pro Rick DePamphilis Uses P3ProSwing for Indoor Golf Lessons

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

A True Story About 5 Years of Increased Off Season Revenue By Using P3ProSwing Indoor Golf Lessons with P3ProSwing

Just the other day, we heard from one of our Pros, PGA Master Professional Rick DePamphilis.  He was calling in to reorder some supplies, and happened to mention to one of the guys here how much he’s been enjoying using his P3ProSwing, and how much his golf students love it.

Rick bought his first P3ProSwing unit five years ago, and since then has really gone to town, making his investment work for him.

Being in the Northeast – DePamphilis is based in Rhode Island – a golf pro has a tough decision to make.  Either move south to teach and leave friends and family for 6 months out of the year, or abandon the golf industry and do something else during the cold winter months.

With the P3ProSwing indoor golf system, for the past five years, DePamphilis has used the P3ProSwing Golf Swing Analyzer and Golf Simulator for his indoor coaching sessions, and is is able to teach year round with great results.

“As PGA Master Professional who teaches golf year round here in the New England section, I have utilized the P3ProSwing golf simulator and swing analyzer during our ‘off-season’ for over 5 years to help my students keep their golf games sharp during the dull winter months,” says DePamphilis.

“The P3ProSwing is a simple, fun and entertaining way to learn about what the ball, club and body are doing during the motion of the swing to produce the kind of projected ball flight a student is getting on every shot – all in stunning 3-D graphics. It is great for teaching and training and may be used by a student to practice independently or for lessons under the watchful eye of an instructor.  Many of my students get so excited after using the P3ProSwing for the first time they want to buy one for their own home!”

More About Rick DePamphilis
Additional accolades include NEPGA Teacher of the Year, NEPGA Junior Golf Leader, Golf Digest Best Teacher in State, Golf Magazine Top Regional Teacher, and Golf Range Magazine Top 50 Instructor.

Rick DePamphilis is a longtime PGA Master Professional Instructor who has been honored as a New England PGA Teacher of the Year and two time Junior Golf Leader for his legendary work with student golfers spanning an award winning 35 year teaching career.

One of the regions’ most respected and sought out golf instructors, Rick is currently listed among Golf Digest’s ‘Best Teachers In the State’ for 2010 which marks the 5th consecutive biannual ranking from 1000 leading golf instructors across the country.

Golf Swing Analyzers: Better than Golf Simulators?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Yes, but they’re different too. Each has it’s strengths. A Golf Swing Analyzer is a tool.  A Golf Simulator is generally used for entertainment and course play.

P3ProSwing is 99.9% Accurate

Pros around the globe use swing analyzers as a serious tool to enhance their lessons and add value for their students. That’s why P3ProSwing is technology partner of the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie Florida.

There are no golf simulators endorsed by the PGA Learning Center.  Because of it’s powerful accuracy, P3ProSwing Golf Swing Analyzer is the only swing analyzer chosen to be a Technology Partner with the PGA Learning Center.

So, what’s the answer… Are Golf Swing Analyzers better than Golf Simulators? Depends. Do you want a serious tool to improve your golf game, or do you want to play with a toy?

-Monique Gaudet
Don’t just play around. Improve your game.

How accurate is the P3ProSwing Golf Swing Analyzer and Golf Simulator?

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

I recently answered this question, and thought I would share. “How accurate is the P3ProSwing?”  P3ProSwing is 99.9% Accurate

The P3ProSwing is 99.9% accurate. When your club head passes over the 65 optical sensors and emitters, your swing data information is instantly uploaded to the computer, which then turns the data into a visual display for you.

This shows you exactly what your club head is doing in the impact zone, which is 5 inches before the ball, at impact and 5 inches after the ball.

P3ProSwing it has been tested accurate multiple times on an outdoor driving range. When you take the actual ball flight and compare that information to what the P3ProSwing is calculating for ball flight, the result is pretty much always dead on within an inch or two.

P3ProSwing is a golf swing analyzer and golf simulator. It is a serious tool, and is in use at the PGA Learning Center every single day by serious teaching pros. This is another reason we know the P3ProSwing is accurate. Would a highly trained, certified teaching professional working at the most elite golf training academy in the world use a toy? No way.

Are you going to play with a toy, or are you serious about your game?

P.S. Here are a few more factoids about exactly what the P3ProSwing Swing Analyzer measures, and which metrics are calculated.  Hint: There are more actual swing measurements than anything else.

Indoor Golf: Do you have what it takes?

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Do you have what it takes to be an indoor golfer?

Small Hitting Center Golf Studio for P3Proswing Golf Simulator

Small Hitting Center Package: small footprint, huge performance

The single most important aspect about indoor golfing is having enough ceiling height to swing a club. You need a bare minimum of 9’3″ to swing a driver indoors.

I don’t care what anyone else says.  You get a 6′ person in your studio swinging a driver, and if you don’t have the ceiling height to accommodate the swing, you’ll soon be hiring a drywaller to patch the situation.

Catch Net Golf Studio

Catch Net Golf Studio Option: Unit Mat, Net... done!

So assuming you have the height, build from there.  It’s pretty simple: unit, mat , net… and you’re set up!

Or, get fancy and kick it up a notch (to quote one of our favorite TV personalities) with a hanging impact screen and a high def projector.  Your budget dictates where you go with your golf studio.

Large Hitting Center for the P3ProSwing Golf Simulator

Large Hitting Center: top of the line, and still under $20K

For more golf studio ideas, check out the P3ProSwing golf studio options page. You really don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a good quality set up.  You choose the level of investment you want to make, and chances are we can work with that.

Something Different
Something new has cropped up recently on our radar. What with the economy on its way back up, but still not fully recovered and all, we’ve been doing more and more of what we call Heart Transplants.  But more on Heart Transplants here.

Practicing putting is boring. Putting with eggs is fun.

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Egg outsideHow do you handle lightning fast greens and downhill putts where speed is hard to gauge?  Picture that your ball is an egg.

Just by imagining that your ball is something so fragile that it would crack – not to mention make a disgusting mess – will prompt you to hit the ball softer.  Your stroke will naturally soften, giving you more of a delicate touch with your putter.

Now go out and hit an egg!

OK, say you don’t want to look like the idiot with eggs on the course.  Alternatively, you can practice your short game with a golf simulator.  The stimp factor on the P3ProSwing is adjustable – so you can practice the same exact tricky greens with different stimp speeds.

Just like chipping with different wind speeds to see how your clubs work the shot in variable wind conditions, putting on different stimp speeds is just as valuable.  You get to know your clubs, and how to use them to your full advantage.

It’s all about practice.  Get going!
